Biography:
Gerald Winemiller, FNP received his Bachelor's Degree at Penn State University and his Master's Degree at South University in Tampa, Florida. He spent the majority of his career in Emergency Medicine, which he still enjoys, but has also enjoyed being in primary care to assist with your health care needs with Sandhills Family Clinic.
Jerry began his healthcare career at age 17 when he became a first responder, first as an EMT, then as a volunteer firefighter. His career in emergency medicine began in 1999 as an Emergency Room Technician, which then led to him becoming a registered nurse to continue his service at a greater level. Taking the next step into the family nurse practitioner role was the natural step.
Winemiller says, "My objective is to be able to provide a service where people can trust me and be a provider who truly listens. I want to make the patient feel like a human being as they are an active part in the decision-making process of their healthcare issues and not a number in a big circle of puzzle pieces. Patients are people with problems, pains and issues, and I am the healthcare provider with a possible solution or at least, hopefully a workable beginning to a common goal.
As a dedicated medical professional, I utilize my compassion for people by providing quality care to all my patients. I have been blessed with a gift to love people, and I cannot imagine a better environment to use this gift than in health care. With my strong knowledge base and my skills in examining and treating patients, I am confident in my medical decision making. It is my mission to build a career where I can put these traits into practice in order to make a difference in a persons health and, ultimately, their life.
I believe that proactive medicine is the answer to the healthcare crisis today. For over 20 years I have been a healthcare professional and have loved every minute of it."
